We have a block of residential flats (circa 1970) that are classed as general needs, which means the tenants do not have any mobility issues. The tenants have storage areas that lead off communal corridors and we are planning to replace the existing wooden doors on them. we are looking to replace them with composite doors. Do these doors need to be 1/2 hr fire doors with them leading onto the communal area? We are having problems finding certificated composite fire doors after issues were raised around doors at grenfell towers. Can anyone recommend a supplier of doors that have been certified and tested on both sides? Thanks

Hi
I am no expert on composite doors but you are right there is a concern over them. We have a lot of composite panels in our workplace our insurance company have advised that we remove them as a lot of insurance companies will not insure this risk. His exact words were in around three years you may struggle to get adequate insurance cover if our composite panels remain.
Speak to your insurers
