How do you confirm competency to use an angle grinder?  The Abrasive Disc course does not cover most of the issues.

An angle grinder course is training and should be specific to the type of grinder/disc etc. selected, so if deleivered by a reputable organisation cover what you require. That said it is not competence, training is one element of competence and it is the future use by the operative and expereince they gain that helps develop their competence. You may also find the British Abrasives Federation useful in helping assist with determining competence. Whilst not a legal requirement to be a member or use them for training etc. they are recognised by the HSE as an industry leader in good practice, see link below:
