Hi all,

Just a quick question.  My partner Rents a Hairdressers Chair and is Self Employed in a Local Business in Town.

My partner has complained to the Landlord about the lack of heat in the Salon, her Clients have also complained.  Due to the inadequate heating levels, the Salon is cold and also affects the final produced hair color, with colors not taking properly.

My partner has suggested that she will purchase electric heaters for the Salon, but the Landlord has declined the offer due to the price of Electricity.

So, I am under the impression that the Landlord is responsible for making the working Temperature comfortable... am I right or will my Partner need to pay the Landlord for Electricity and Heaters?

(Electricity costs are already in her Weekly Rental costs)

Thank you.

Not fobbing you off, but ... it depends on her contract. As its a chair in a salon with utilities are included is there an industry standard for minimum temperatures for products working?

Also, its a place of work that wouldn't appear to require vigourous movement so, by guidance, should be at least 16 degrees after a couple of hours.

Using Google and 'hair salon workplace temperature regulations' there is quite a lot of information but I suspect that if she pushes too hard she would loose her chair, again that depends on the contract.
