I have been tasked to work in Ireland & never been before, it is warehouse & retail enviroments What are the main differences for fire regs, age restricted products, Pat testing? Are there any other Health & Safety Law differences i need to know?

I asked the same question a few months ago and got some excellent advice. I was advised to get a copy of 'Health, Safety & Welfare Law in Ireland' by Jospeh Kinsella. It's a fairly short and reasonably readable introduction.

In brief, almost everything is technically different since ROI law and UK law are separate systems. On the other hand since ROI and UK both follow common law and are both part of the EU (for the next couple of weeks anyway) most stuff actually works out about the same even if the names & structure of the regs, the wording and some of the details are different,

When youre over here if you want to verify anything you can give me a shout. H&S pretty much the same, some differences in reporting and with Fire Regs. hsa.ie site is pretty good for information.
