If a lift Crane lift is planned and it involves a suspended man basket; does the crane require a seperate 6 monthly inspection (as it now becomes equipment used for lifting personnel) or if the 12 monthly crane cert is only 5 months old is this acceptable.

When reading the Loler regs I interpret it as the crane becomes equipment for lifting personnel as soon as the man basket is attached, however it also states that cranes require a 12 monthly inspection. Has anyone got definitive experience of this situation and suitable advice.

The crane requires to be within 6 months of its previous examination. There should not be a need for a separate certificate. The man-riding basket will be subject to 6 monthly as standard.
