Hello I work in the fuel industry and I'm trying to find more information about a situation that I faced recentlly. We have a costumer that is requesting us to emplty the water on the tank sensors chamber into the forecourt interceptor. I believe that we shouldnt do it however, I know that if the the chambers have direct fills, there would be the risk with ethanol in the chamber and contaminate the water in the interceptor and eventually the surface water. On the other hand if the site has off set fills, there shouldn’t be a risk with ethanol in the chamber unless the site has a leak and then the water would go in the tank and alarm on the gauge. I would like to have some more information on this however i can only find information on the interceptors themselves. Is there anyone tha tcould shine some light on this for me please?

Sounds like you need to read the Energy Institute standard EI15 5th edition.
