Why Do Leaders Reject Professional Safety Advice?
Rank: New forum user
|
It’s surprising how often senior leadership hires competent safety professionals, only to ignore or argue against their recommendations. If expert advice is being paid for, why isn’t it respected or implemented?
Is it due to a lack of awareness, resistance to change, or something else? I’m interested to hear how others have dealt with this challenge and how we can encourage better acceptance of safety input at the leadership level. Best regards,
Syed Zain Ud Din

Not sure why you would open this thread given that it is effectively a duplication of the thread opened by Holliday which you have commented on in one of your three contributions to these Forums since you registed here yesterday. Are you a bot? Your Forum profie indicates that you are not a Member of IOSH and whilst non Members are very welcome, the Forums have seen a considerable amount of spamming. Your name looks as if one part might have been split into three, if a quick Google is to go by: Syed Zainuddin is a name that appears in different contexts, including historical figures and modern professionals. One notable figure is Syed Zainuddin Shirazi, a 14th-century Sufi saint who lived in Daulatabad, India. .......... The name itself, Zainuddin, has Arabic origins, meaning "beauty of the faith" or "grace of the religion".
