Posted By jon hammond Can anyone advise me on how to get on the ladder.I passed the NEBOSH Certificate course a couple of years ago while working in construction, shutdown and maintenance as a mechanical fitter but have been unable to get a job in health and safety because of a lack of experiance(even though I have been a union safety rep)hence catch 22. I welcome your comments

Posted By Trevor Pierce Jon What ever you do, do not lose heart. I passed my BSc in Occupational Health and Safety in 1999, and have spent all this time trying to gain a position anywhere in H&S.[see Age Concerned threads earlier this year] Recently a contact from a totally unlikely source gave me word of a position with a small construction company, and although we only have a verbal agreement (I am waiting for a formal written letter), I start work for them on March 17th. What I am trying to say, is that although you feel that the whole world is against you, your time will eventually come with perseverance. Keep Hunting and Good Luck! Trevor
