Posted By Tim I am due to leave the army next year after 22 years service, I am currently the unit safety and environmental protection advisor. I have the General Certificate and will complete the new diploma by the middle of next year. I have a sound knowledge of all environmental issues and have auditing and implementation experience based on EMAS and ISO 14001. I should have confirmation of my IEMA membership in the near future. I live in Newcastle and will be looking for a work placement for a couple of weeks after easter 2005. Any advise would be appreciated. Regards

Posted By Paul Oliver Hi Tim, I might be able to help out a bit if your interested. I live in middlesboro and am based from home, but have to travel to gosforth, crook, bishop auckland etc to carry out construction site visits. You may be able to tag along for a couple of days per week. E-mail me direct if you are intersted and I will get the ball rolling with my employer. Cheers Paul

Posted By Murray S Graham Tim, I to left the forces in Jan 03 after completing 24years like yourself. I found it quite hard to begin with, trying not to use military acronyms, and relating what I had done in the forces to a civilian employer. My CV took several knocks but after some good advice from the resettlement team in Rosyth, hit the right balance of information. Use all the resources the forces have while you can as you may not be able to access them after you retire. It's not a great deal of advice mate, but at least you know there are others like you out here who have landed jobs of varying degrees. This is a very good forum to start your search as there are alot of very helpful people who contribute with sound advice, minus the BS. Good luck mukka, and if I can help in any way let me know via this means. Murray Graham

Posted By Tony Harmsworth Sorry for the late reply, but this is not a forum I often log into. Give me a ring on 01454 624059 and I may be able to assist you with some work experience in our Newcastle office.
