Posted By Tim You may still be able to get on the old NEBOSH Dip 1, but if you want to take the new level 4 Diploma, you need a level 3 qual such as general or construction cert. have a look on the NEBOSH website, www.nebosh.org Best of luck Tim

Posted By Alan Woodage Charlie In my opinion you may be better off starting with the NEBOSH construction certificate, as many will tell you the language of NEBOSH questions is often beyond the comprehension of all except those that wrote it. By doing this you should be able to secure yourself a reasonable position within the construction industry, based on your years of practical experience on site and a formal qualification. This is one industry where experience often out ways qualification. Once in a post then look at getting some support from your employer or grants to do your diploma and progress. Oh and finally brace yourself for a pay cut, I worked on the tools for many years and slowly worked my way into a H&S role. To go straight in to a full time role may mean a reduction in salary. Alan
