BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION

Provide support and advice on safety, health and environmental (SHE) matters to the Company’s Northern/Scottish Region.
Assist in the implementation of the Company’s SHE management systems on new contracts.
· Conduct periodic SHE Audits of contracts.
· Conduct periodic inspections of premises.
· Investigate serious accidents.
· Provide in-house training.
· Attend regional operations meetings and provide reports on SHE issues.
· Assist bid teams developing bids for new contracts.
· Assist the SHE Manager develope and improve the Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems.
· Provide advice to directors and managers on safety, health and environmental matters.

TYPE OF PERSON :

· A safety professional with experience of facilities management is preferred.
· A minimum of 3 years experience as a Health and Safety professional.
· A self-reliant and self-motivated individual.

SKILLS REQUIREMENT :

· Confident yet diplomatic communication skills and commercially aware.
· Excellent presentation and training skills.
· Knowledge and experience of safety, health, environmental and fire safety matters in facilities and premises management.
· Good report writing and administrative skills.
· Computer literate.
· Full clean driving licence.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT :

· Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (MIOSH) or Member of the Institute of International Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM), but high calibre candidates who are working towards MIOSH would be considered. ISO 14001 Internal Auditor (IRCA) Preferred.

Jarvis Accommodation Services FM Operations are a facilities management company providing services in schools, university accommodation, hospitals and a variety of other environments. The majority of its contracts are Private Finance Initiative projects. While the Jarvis Group is undergoing significant structural changes, the FM division is looking forward to a secure and stable future with an established client base.

The Company’s Northern Region currently comprises of 22 contracts located in a geographical triangle that includes; Wirral, York, Harrogate, Bridlington, Sunderland, Tyneside, Dundee, Aberdeen, Loch Lomond, Glasgow, Lancaster, Manchester and Salford.
