Posted By Charley Farley-Trelawney Chris I found the NVQ route quite acceptable to level four, am beavering away on five at present; the great thing is whilst still learning you can be at work not sat in a classroom wondering how to fit in the lost days work! What I can say is, if you are in a position as a frontline SP and you get a good NVQ assessor it works well, and I do not agree that most jobs favor the NEBOSH level 4 route or degree, at the end of it all if you are able to offer some real solid years experience, then the interview should go well depending on your personal selling techniques with regard to yourself. Yes I know the situation, you have all the paper qualifications in the world, your head ends up disappearing where the sun don't shine, and yet you still can't get a decent job, its the age old argument, "but have you got experience"? Sound familiar? So give that NVQ a thought, you may be surprised at how involved it is! Good luck, whichever way you go, don’t forget to have fun and enjoy your job, I am currently taking in the new WAH regs 2005 as essential bedtime reading, yeh, I know ain’t it sad, but then, you either enjoy it or you don't. Posted By Simon Rider Darren Look at part time BSc(hon) good qualification and makes you very employable. It is also a lot cheaper than the Diploma route if you are still funding it yourself. Although it's lot of work you can still earn a living while you do it.
