Dear Colleagues
I am in the process of being made redundant from my present role within Syngenta.
With the experience gained from both supervisory and Health & Safety work I wish to take the opportunity to broaden my career and tackle new challenges.
I have corporate membership of IOSH, and am willing to work in any industry, travel not being an issue.
I have extensive experience of operating within the chemical industry. Both as a shift worker (for 16 years) and more recently on days.
In my most recent post as Technical Officer (with responsibility for H & S) I have been involved with supervising and motivating a team of ten Operators in ensuring production targets were met – safely, training and coaching were necessary.
My current responsibilities include:
•Support to an asset Manager with the day-to-day operations of running a complex semi-batch processing plant.
•Coach / train the Operator population within my work group area in aspects of Health & Safety, and be a concience to ensure compliance with the Syngenta safe systems of work.
•Act as the plant representative to projects being implemented.
My current Health & Safety duties include:
•Giving advice to plant Operations Manager on Health & Safety issues.
•Carrying out assessments: Risk, CoSHH, Manual handling. Completing hot work permits, Access permits, Confined space entry rescue plans.
•Carrying out Incident investigation and acting as an Indipendant Accident / Incident facilitator.
•Helping with works training e.g. Permit To Work
•Updating / renewing policies and procedures.
•Works and Production area representative for waste management.
