Posted By Greg Duncan My apologies if i'm repeating old threads, I am interested in becoming a trainer providing such courses as MEWP, abrasive wheels, confined space etc. I have many years experience in these operations in a hands on role and have just completed NVQ4. Do i need specific formal qualifications to provide this type of training and if so where can I gain these qualifications?

I noticed you posted your enquiry on all three Forums - but didn't 'energise' your e-mail link. As your enquiry is career related I have removed the other two to ensure you get a focus for replies.
Now to the business of some suggestions. I would advise your to get some serious, specific training in any subject area you would like to train in. How can you present competent advice through training, without having specific in that subject?
I would recommend CITB as a good starting point for many of the subjects you are interested in. Also there are specific trade organisations for such areas as MEWPS, confined spaces etc.
Good luck Bill Fisher (Moderator)

Posted By Greg Duncan Bill, Thanks for the advice but i'm still a little unclear, maybe I should have phrased the question a little differently. I have at some point had training in all the operations which I speak of, what I really need to know is do I need a formal qualification to actually facilitate this training? The reason for asking is that I know of people who do facilitate training but do not have formal specific qualifications.
