Midlands based consultancy are looking for a small team of associate consultants to help with future projects. We work UK wide for a wide range of clients. The ideal candidates must have at least two years construction experience with a minimum of NEBOSH General Cert or equivalent. When are we going to see IOSH starting to take action against these companies!

I've got no problem with the job ad, its the use of the IOSH logo on their website to which I was objecting!

The iosh logo on my web site is a link to the iosh web site no where on the website does it make any claim with regards to my company and iosh. It is simply there to enable people to access the iosh web site for information there is also a link to the HSE website.We are here to provide people with help and advice on health and safety matter, so what is your problem with this. We are not all out to get rich.

To quote Caroline Brookes Head of Publishing at IOSH:
"Our logo is a valuable asset to the Institution and we have strict guidelines on its usage - it's also trademarked and protected under copyright law. As you rightly point out, the logo represents the name and good standing of the Institution, so it's very much worth 'guarding'.
We regularly take action when organisations mis-use the logo - particularly when it is used to imply a generic or 'umbrella' association with IOSH."

The problem is that clients and others viewing your website may believe that IOSH has endorsed your organisation in some way, and this gives you an unfair advantage over other consultants who are actually complying with IOSH's rules and regulations!
I'm sure we would all be happier if IOSH allowed us all to use the logo in the way you have, but unfortunately they do not. All I therefore want to see is a level playing field.
