I’m curious - Joe, why do you think that your CV is horrible?

Joe
If you care to, in confidence email me a copy directly and I will have a look and give you a constructive reply based on far to many years at looking through cv's.

Joe,
I am unable to email you as it seems your details are not set up? If you could email me your CV I can advise. I have seen your posts previously and understand you are pretty new to the industry and relatively young. I am only 22 myself but my CV seems to do the trick. Hopefully, I'll be able to help.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Joe,
Keep it short & sweet (2 pages max).
Take a look at the CV wizard on the Careers Wales site if you need help with the layout.
It's bilingual, but a link to the English version can be found on:
http://www.careerswales....ome.asp?language=English
PS - You have to register to use the facility

Still curious Joe?
What type of work are you looking for and in what area of health and safety? What work experience have you had so far? (Not necessarily health and safety).
E-mail me direct if you want to discuss.
Regards
PT.

Just out of interest, what do recruiters and persons involved in hiring and firing think about the length of CVs? I have mine pared down to what I believe is the minimum information that will do me justice, but it runs to three pages. I also use a slightly larger font size than other people I know (12pt) as I know that this is a recommended size for those with minor visual impairments.

I am sure it is not as horrid as you think, but maybe it is not as reader friendly as it could be. Are you selling yourself and your abilities to your best advantage. One the other hand, does anyone out there have any useful hints for an older person trying to improve their own CV in today's job market. Employers seem to require totally different things than they did 20 or more years ago.
Joe my advice is to sell your skills and abilities. That must help in some way. Good Luck with the job hunting and the next CV you produce.
