To further enhance its management of health and safety risks, GSK has created a new regional role to co-ordinate occupational hygiene programmes across its consumer healthcare manufacturing and R&D operations in the UK and Ireland. While based at Maidenhead, you will champion and support the full range of occupational hygiene programmes across four manufacturing sites and one R&D site. Together, these sites employ approximately 2,500 staff and manufacture some of GSK’s most successful consumer brands, including Aquafresh, Sensodyne, Horlicks, Ribena, Lucozade and Panadol. GSK is investing significantly in these sites and brands so a key element of your role will be to provide input into engineering projects and new product introductions. The role will require you to work closely with existing employee health and EHS staff at each site, as well as with occupational hygienists in other parts of GSK. In addition, to help drive these programmes within your region, you will also develop and support new occupational hygiene technician roles at the individual sites. You will be a graduate with a recognised qualification in occupational hygiene and full membership of a relevant professional society. You will have at least 5 years professional experience in a manufacturing environment and a proven track record in risk reduction projects. As well as technical expertise in chemical agents, ergonomics and noise, you will also be a team player with a strong customer focus and excellent communication skills.
