Posted By Martin Taylor As I chill out over the festive period my thoughts of turning my back on my current position as a full time health and safety manager grow ever stronger and I find myself finally formulating some real plans to make the leap. Any advice or recommendations on support for setting up as a freelance healtha and safety business from those who may have done it before would be most welcome - I am thinking about support agencies, grants, websites. I am based on Teesside so any body local with advice would be most welcome thanks Martin

Posted By Martyn Hendrie Contact your local "business link" and find out what help they can offer before you start on your own. In the midlands where I live they had a free one day course (general issues about running a business) which was folowed up by a 3 day (more detailed course)for those who had decided to take it a stage further (The cost in 2000 was £65) They also ran a number of networking events which were very useful. Hope this helps Martyn
