Posted By Alec Wood Hi Guys I am looking for work in the field, have my NEBOSH and some experience. I was the sole H&S guy for Samsung Electronics on Teesside for 18 months or so until its closure last year. I've gone back to my previous life as an Electronic Engineer, but it lacks the satisfaction and interest it once held, and my heart's really in H&S not electrons & solder. Any position considered. Email me if you like, alec_wood@ntlworld.com

Posted By David O'Hara I thought Samsung closed in April 2004. I also thought there was a HSE manager based in the microwave division or am I mistaken.

Posted By Alec Wood I am unsure of the point you are trying to make sir, but since you are trying to make some point or other, I'll do my best to correct your misconceptions. Samsung Electronics Manufacturing UK Ltd ceased production of microwave ovens in April 2004, and of PC monitors a short time later. However, they were still in ownership of the site during its decommisioning stage and I remained until this was complete in early 2005. The sale of the site was actually only finalised at the end of that year. The H&S manager of whom you speak, left the company in 2002 if memory serves, but continued to attend once a month for one day as a HS&E consultant to assist the H&S Officer of the time (my predecessor, and later me) and the environmental auditor/controller. While he worked for Samsung, he was indeed based at microwave oven and previously at the colour TV factory. My predecessor also based at microwaves, but I was based at PC Monitor, because, since the job had full site responsibility, there seemed little point in relocating accross the road. I hope I have clarified the situation. However, sir, I am left feeling somewhat dismayed that you would make such a post with it's derisory inferences in a thread such as this. One can see that almost 200 people have viewed my post and may have formed an opinion based on your irrelevant and seemingly malicious reply. Your motivations for making it are beyond me, but I do hope that the damage you have probably done to my prospects of gaining useful employment in the sector have brought you the satisfaction you sought. My email address was clearly posted, and should you have felt there was something untowards about my post, you could easily have asked me. Alec Wood

Posted By Alec Wood Furthermore, should you care to do a search on my name, you will find many of the posts I made as encumbant of that role in Samsung.

Posted By David O'Hara Alec I think you make some good points. I must apoligise for my message. I was merely asking a question and was not trying any under hand tricks. I wish you all the best in gaining successful employment in the near future.
