POST REPORTS TO :NATIONAL SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION
· Predominantly providing assistance support and advice on safety, health and environmental (SHE) matters to the Company’s Southern Region.
· Assist in the implementation of the Company’s SHE management systems on new contracts.
· Conduct scheduled SHE Audits of contracts.
· Conduct scheduled inspections of premises.
· Proactively, managing/oversee/follow up/investigate accidents/near misses and incidents at contract level, reporting those, which meet criteria to HSE.
· Provide in-house training.
· Attend regional operations meetings and provide reports on SHE issues.
· Assist bid teams developing bids for new contracts, where required.

TYPE OF PERSON
· A SH&E professional with 2 years demonstrable experience of facilities management is essential
· A SH&E professional with demonstrable experience of working in PFI schools is preferred
· A minimum of 3 years experience as a SH&E professional is essential
· A self-reliant, and self-motivated individual team player with pragmatic practical solutions
· Demonstrable ISO 14001 Practical Operational Environmental Implementation & Management Application

SKILLS REQUIREMENT :
· Confident yet diplomatic communication skills.
· Commercially aware
· Excellent presentation and training skills, relating to target audience
· Knowledge and experience of safety, health, environmental and fire safety matters in facilities and premises management.
· Excellent report writing and administrative skills.
· Computer literate.
· Able to manage own time
· Full clean driving licence.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (MIOSH) minimum, or (CMIOSH) and above.
· Member of the Institute of International Risk and Safety Management (MIIRSM) considered
· Internal Environmental Auditor 14001 (IRCA) or Environmental Lead Auditor 14001
Qualification by exam will only be considered for this position;
· Nottingham Trent University Diploma in SH&E Management or Degree
· NEBOSH Diploma Parts 1 & 2 or Degree
· Demonstrable Environmental Training & Assessment or Above.
All candidates without the above qualifications will not be considered.
