I have recently completed my degree in Biomedical science and am keen to pursue a career as an occupational health adviser. Can anybody provide me with some advise on how to get onto the ladder as most of the jobs i have been looking at need you to have graduated in occupational health.
This would be much appreciated

dear natalie
you can get careers advice from iosh careers team......just phone up iosh head office and they are really helpful. Do you wish to become an occupational health adviser or an occupational safety and health advisor......they are very different professional paths.
occ health needs nursing or similar qualification. occ health and safety neeeds in your case an MSc in occ health and safety or nebosh diploma but as you have an appropriate degree already you would be faster getting MSc. you could find it best to do nebosh certificate perhaps by correspondence.....cheapest way.....and then find a junior safety job where they will hopefull give you study leave and even pay for your MSc course or Nebosh dip course.
good luck
email me if you need more guidance.......simone@safetyknowhow.com
I advise you to get a mentor perhaps at your local iosh branch.
good luck
