Hello all, I hope someone may be abe to help me...
I am seeking possible job opportunities as I am moving from Australia to South West London in June as my Fiancée has recently been transferred there for an indefinite period. I arrive on the 23rd June 2006 and will be seeking work within the health and safety field. Currently I work as an Occupational Health and Safety Officer with a Sydney Council, and have two and a half years Health and Safety Experience.
I have recently become a Graduate Member of IOSH and have a Masters Degree in Occupational Health and Safety accompanied with a Bachelor of Science (Exercise Science) degree from the University of Wollongong (NSW, Australia).
I have an Italian passport so I am eligible to work within the UK. I would like to have my job seeking underway before I enter the UK so I have the best opportunity to obtain work when I arrive.
I would appreciate any assistance or advice that anyone may be able to offer.
Cheers,
Luke Bonnor

look in the SHP online, as you probably don't get the magazine sent all the way there to you in oz; and go through the agencies featured. although they do not always follow up on calling you when they say they will. at least you have some experience i don't know how it will be rated by companies here as you will have different regs to learn etc. i'm also told that oz and NZ are a bit behind us here in the UK, no offense intended. i'm still fairly new to the H&S world though so with any luck others will add some info for you. my job search has been mostly through agencies and the web and the SHP.

Luke,
I have a client (in London) who offer really good career opportunities and are able to support Australians as they get to grips with UK legislation. Please drop me a copy of your CV and we can get you an interview lined up for when you get to England (richard.stewart@anderselite.com)
Regards,
Richard

Thanks Sonshine, I actually do recieve SHP her in Oz and have contacted a number of agencies. I am just trying get some tips or help from people in this forum, and I have already recieved some usefull information. No offence taken, the NSW (Australian) system is very similar to the UK system due to the fact that is where it was derived from. So the concepts are very similar especially in terms of risk management. I am very open to learning new things and have been reading many of the UK Regs and guidelines from HSE.
Thanks also Richard I will send you a copy of my CV.
Cheers, Luke
