I have a interview for a new job this week. On putting together my portfolio of work I am slightly thrown off by data protection act. What can I take as a sample of my work to an interview.
I have redesigned the majority of the Health and Safety paperwork whilst being with my current employer and was wondering which of the following I should use and what censorship I may need to enforce:
I was planning on taking the following:
Samples of Risk Assessments
Samples of Safe Systems of Work
Accident Report - Serious accident with personal data and location removed
KPI Charts with "made up" figures
Powerpoint Presentations - WAH, CSCS, Scaffold, Toolbox Talks,
Refresher Training Questionaires
Audit Training Sheets
Health and Safety Awareness Training for Management
I was going to remove the company logo off everything and remove all personnel details and locations. Is this enough ? I was told by a friend who works in HR that as long as it's only to be viewed at the interview then this shall be fine. Anything that I wish to leave would need to be generic.
Has anyone got any more opinions ?

DPA deals with an individual and should be removed not companies, remember your companies Intellectual Property Rights, any work you produced for then in the course of work time is theirs and not yours.

You are not a fashion designer, or a photographer. So they should not have asked that. This says more of about the company, probably not, the organisation's standing and the quality of the person that will interview you.
May be they should have just asked you to post your work and respect you that you are a busy person. Which I presume they are not, as busy employer/interviewer/manager, will always consider that.
It is quite interesting how some who happen to be in a position of having to employ act.
