Posted By Alexander Falconer Key role (possibly commencing late summer 2006) for an experienced Health, Safety & Environment professional within a Gas Central Heating & Servicing organisation (Domestic & Non-Domestic operations). Reporting direct to the Group HSE Manager (Head Office - Glasgow), the role itself will be based within our Wakefield office, and be responsible for our North England Regional area (Lancashire / Yorkshire / Northnumberland / Cumbria). You will provide advice & assistance on all matters relating to HSE management together with assisting in the development and implementation of Corporate HSE programs, procedures and policies for the organisation. You will assist in the day-to-day maintenance and monitoring of HSE programs, procedures and complete safety statistics, accident reporting, assist with accident and hazard investigations and recommend corrective action. You will also conduct and prepare the format for periodic HSE inspections and / or site audits. Your remit will also include identifying and evaluating HSE hazards, making recommendations to management on actions necessary to ensure compliance. Challenges will also include researching & assisting in development of various HSE programs, procedures/policies and you will assist in implementing new HSE program. You will provide technical knowledge in the development of HSE controls, & workplace hazard control strategies. You will keep abreast of current and changing HSE regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will posess at least NEBOSH Diploma part 1/Tech SP as a minimum, an environmental qualification is essential (but not desirable), have 2-3 years relevant HSE experience, including the administration and implementation of site-wide HSE programs, program development, HSE training, regulatory compliance, and environmental issues. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with operations personnel and site management as the ability to work well in a team environment.
