Posted By Tony W It must be the sunny weather up here on Merseyside but my mind has been wandering back to my not too distant dreams of working over in Australia. I know its a difficult and time-consuming process but can anyone out there offer any advice or info regarding possible employers, past experiences (good and bad), etc. Cheers, Tony

Posted By Richard Spencer Tony I have sent you an email. More UK personnel should make a move to this end of the globe. I have been here like thousands of our country men and women for 38 years and I have no regrets. The country came through with all it promised and met all my aspirations. I am now in the latter part of my career and I would encourage all english speaking UK people to make the step all that I have met in some measure been successful. The country is in a minerals boom and put it this way - when as a young man I drove an Austin A40 I now drive an E class Mercedes Benz. Get cracking take a risk see what your skills can do for you. Posted By Richard Spencer For all to know - try the recruitment agents listed under Australian recruitment. The majority of organisations seem to use these alot. Make yourself available in the shortest possible time, be well qualified in the area, have lots of experience, be willing to work and live in remote areas on a FIFO basis. Remember the job market is very competitive and managers look for the best fit not necessarily the cheapest candidate. If you have other skills and membership of other institutions so much the better. Do not take no for an answer if it means studying in Australia so much the better as a student you would be here and you could do the equiries face to face. Remember where there is a will - there is always a way. Remember 'faint heart never won fair lady'. Best of luck to all who want to take the step downunder it is a big one so be sure its for you. John Holland were looking for Safety Managers but the agents are your best chance. Richard
