Hi

Has anyone got any ideas of how to get into the health and safety arena?? I have limited experience in H&S, i am currently studying for the nebosh cert self funded (in itself shows willing and motivation), I'm 27, looking to relocate back home to the East Midlands, I am degree educated, and have worked within logistics since leaving uni 5 years ago. I am quite aware that getting a purely H&S position is going to be difficult, but what other areas can i look at? can anyone suggest any particular companies that would offer H&S maybe as part of the job description of a particular role? Eg, facilities. Does anyone know of any companies that look for roles like building inspector etc that offers traineeship? I want to work within H&S, but if this is within another job sphere, that would be great too. Any advice gratefully received as i currently have no idea where next to turn.

Regards
Hannah

Whilst i know it is difficult to get started i think it might be a good idea to gain experience through working with companies on a voluntary basis, this way you will get in with a chance.
It is how trainee solicitors get their training and then obtain their step up the ladder.
Once you are gaining the experience it may be that the same company can offer you a post or you can use it for your cv to obtain a post.
