I am 47 years old and have worked in heavy industry all my working life,I am presently in full time employment as a TeamLeader at Corus(5 1/2 years). My duties include direct and indirect supervision of over 30 people both Corus and contractor employees .
Im responsible for the general health and safety of the people and the area carrying out workplace inspections, behavioural obsevations and spotchecks.I was previously a union appointed safety rep for 9 years attending various union and Corus inhouse safety courses.
I have just attained my Nebosh General Certificate and are presently applying for TechIOSH membership which Im hopeful of attaining.
I work a 12hr rolling shift system which gives me 4days on and 4 days off with 18 days off every 7 weeks. This gives me a lot of spare time, some of which I intend to spend to use gaining further relevant qualifications.
I am looking for part time work in Health and Safety on a casual basis or hours to suit my permanent employment. This is to gain valuable experience in a H/S role which in the future Im hoping will help me to attain a full time role after I have left Corus, possibly in 3 years time.Im presently in a very well paid job so the prospect of experience is more important to me than extra money.
My email is mark.limon@ntlworld.com
regards,M Limon
