Posted By garyh Instead of the misleading "this message cannot be displayed at this time" (oh yes it can, it has been blocked!!) - why not have the more honest statement "This post has been blocked by the Moderators".

Posted By Neal Clark Hi garyh,
Many thanks for your suggestion. Posts are removed from our discussion forums for a variety of reasons. Sometimes this is because a message is in breach of our Acceptable Use Guidelines, but other times posts are removed at the request of the user.
It would therefore not be accurate to say that all removed postings have been ‘blocked by the moderators’, and we feel that our more generic statement is more appropriate.
Thanks again,
Neal Clark, Web Co-ordinator.

In addition, posts are sometimes removed from public view on a temporary basis while our moderating team discuss the contents. This can mean that posts are later re-instated if they are deemed to be acceptable.
It would therefore not be accurate to say that all removed postings have been ‘blocked by the moderators’, and we feel that our more generic statement is more appropriate.
Thanks again,

Posted By Saracen11 Hi garyh, and the MOD team, having had several posts removed/blocked... a full explaination has always followed via e-mail as to why my contribution has caught the MOD's eyes. I have acknowledged and accepted the MOD decision to remove/block my contribution in most cases...
I read with interest some posts that are obviously sent as a wind-up... the MOD team always respond accordingly...
At certain times throughout the year, contributions increase... hip hip hurray for the MOD's for keeping a close eye on things...
Regards

Posted By Alan Haynes If you want to contact the person who has had a post blocked [or anyone else that has 'posted'], you can usually, [but not always], get their e-mail address by 'logging in' and 'right clicking' on their name - look under 'properties' and you will get their address

Posted By Neal Clark Thanks Alan,
But just to clarify, all forum users have the option to make their registered email address visible or invisible to other logged in forum users. You can select your preference by first logging in, then selecting 'update my details' on the right of your screen.
If another user has opted to make their email address visible, the name above their posting will be coloured red, and all you need to do is click once with your left mouse button to open a private email link.
Please note that this facility is only available to those logged into the forums.
Thanks very much,
Neal Clark, Web Co-ordinator
