Health and Safety Advisor looking to develop into a safety management heavyweight, is seeking an employer with the vision to make safety success at the core of their business.

You will see from my CV (supplied on request – email me) that I have more than a passing interest in CDM. I also have a good level of competence in safety management and my training and influencing skills. I am working in a multi disciplinary environment and on a multi site basis.

My current role requires me to be "responsible" for up to 30 worksites at a time (Head office, 7 depots, up to 15 construction sites and any number of maintenance crews).

I am also delivering CDM advice, guidance and training to 120 designers (civil, structural, electrical, road safety, highway and geotechnical), a team of Planning Supervisors, and the client. This is in addition to the traditional H+S advisor role of advising the Network Manager and General Manager of their responsibilities, areas for improvement etc.

I also play a part in the business improvement team, coming up with new ideas to add value, minimise costs, improve safety, and bring other business benefits.

I believe that my CV shows a great deal of breadth and depth in my skills, and an ability to learn very quickly. Because of this I will consider roles in construction, engineering, banking, finance, legal, consultancy.

In respect of terms and conditions, I would prefer to hear from organisations willing to fund/support development via the NEBOSH diploma. Salary circa. £35,000.

You will be lucky to get £35k without the NEBOSH Diploma or full member of IOSH. In some cases its hard to earn this amount even with the professional recognition.

I know though that it is frustrating when you have all of the practical experience then do not get a job due to lack of educational qualifications.

Good luck with your search.

As frustrating as it may be I agree with S Mack, you will be extremely lucky to get £35K without CMIOSH or a Diploma (many of us with CMIOSH and Diplomas do not attain that salary).

Try to find an employer that will support you attaining GradIOSH.

Many thanks for all the positive responses.
Looks like I'm ready to move on to bigger and better things.
