Posted By CDCropper I am looking for advice on the following topic. I am currently employed as an Operations Manager within the Spa industry and I am looking to change career before it is to late. I am Qualified to NEBOSH NGC Level and also posess The IOSH acredited Managing safety Qual. My responsibilities within work are conducting all annual Risk Assessments Fire & NEM for a group of health spa's, COSHH Training, Organizing Health & Safety Training Courses for over 200 Staff, Management of a team of onsite Maintenance team and overseeing any outside contractors,I have also updated the companies Health & Safety system inline with current legislation. This is all in addition to many other responsibilities to much to mention. I know many people ask this same question, but i would like to know what my options are? What is my best way of finding a more challenging role, Where do I begin to look and are there any prospective employers out there who would be interested and finaly is there any hope????

Posted By Catman Hi CD
All I can advise is get your CV out there, to everybody including agencies, and be prepared to take a drop in wages in the short term, but for a long term gain.
If you are serious and enjoy the safety profession, you will not find a more rewarding career, if you are just looking for a change and are not sure, the safety profession could drive you mad very quickly.
I have not met many safety folk who see it as just a job but may be corrected by other forum posters?
Good luck. TW

Posted By Darren J Fraser Agree with the above.
If serious you could further your development with further qualifications. Also consider joining IOSH or IIRSM or both.
Keep sending your CV out, contact as many agencies as you can
Finally good luck - the rewards are many.
