Posted By Chris Devlin Can someone tell me please, is it possible to gain employment abroad without the NEBOSH DIP or 10-15 years experience. I have about 6 years experience but am finding it impossible to even be considered for certain roles????

Posted By Descarte Have they stated specifically that it is your experience and qualifications that are making you unsuitable for these roles or that you are not a permanent resident in that country?
Most applications I have looked at abroad often require permanent residence and work visa's before they will even interview you

Posted By Chris Devlin They havent stated anything, thats the main problem. I am NEBOSH Cert qualified, with plenty of experience at Trade and safety level within the petro-chemical, chemical, demolition, construction industries. Im employed at the minute so im not desperate, i do think you have a valid point though in relation to visa's. Thanks.

Posted By Paul Wheeler I have been working in the USA for over 7 years now and the only way I was able to secure a position overseas was through a UK Company transfer. There are a few Company's which might sponsor you for a visa but these are where there is a short fall in local expertise. For instance Maritime companies frequently use ex-pats. Once you are a professional member of IOSH it is easy to get ASSE membership as they recognise your UK qualifications. Good luck I hope you manage to find something suitable.
