Posted By mark limon Like many on here Im looking to develop a fulltime career in H/S but not for at least 3 years. Im a very experiences former safety rep and now shift supervisor on a top tuer COMAH site with significant H/S duties. I have(like many others) the nebosh GC and techIOSH status.Im a RoSPA trained manual handler instructor(Im about to become the Plants MH instructor) I am self funding myself through the diploma next year.(postponed 1 year due to daughters expensive wedding) My employer is about to fund me through an IOSH hand vibration course so I can carry out risk assessments properly under the new regs. Im also hopeful they will fund me on the Nebosh fire safety and risk assessment course as well. I want to dip my toes in the murky waters first though with part time work (inhouse at my works and local colleges etc)presenting. I emailed IOSH last week asking what qualifications are needed to become an IOSH course provider to the level of presenting(initially) the 4 day managing safety course. To date Ive received no reply so can anyone help????,thankyou,Mark.

Posted By Pete Stewart Mark,
Unless things have changed since I got my ticket, you need to be a 'Full' member of IOSH, i.e have the full diploma.

Posted By Tony Brunskill You do not require the diploma to deliver the course but it does have to be supervised by a member. I assume that is Chartered.

Posted By mark limon Thanks Tony,My plants senior Safety Advisor is a Diploma holder but not sure if he is a member of IOSH. When you talk about supervising is that someone sat in the corner watching(then they might as well present it)or just being nearby and possibly attending the morning review of the previous day??.

Posted By C David Haynes Mark Some of the responses are rather misleading. May I suggest you telephone the Health and Safety Admin. team at IOSH on 0116 257 3152 and they will be able to give you the correct information.
Regards
C David Haynes Health and Safety Training Manager IOSH
