Advice - Moving from Australia to UK to work

Posted By GregW Hey all,
I am seeking some information on the recriprication of qualifications between Aus and the UK.
I have been working in safety now for 3 years and hold a BA of health science majoring in safety health and environment. I am looking to start work in late feb 2007 preferably in the london area.
If anyone can give me some advice (or tell me where to get it) on what if any courses etc i will need to complete prior to starting i would be MOST grateful. Also any recruitment agents etc etc that would be good to contact would also be great.
Cheers
Greg

Posted By Hazel Harvey Greg, You might not need any extra courses to gain professional recognition. Your Australian degree may well meet our requirements for entry to Graduate Membership in the first instance. This will help you in your search for employment. You will need to familiarise yourself with UK legislation obviously, but your health and safety skills will be transportable. Looking at recent developments on the HSE website and reading any current text book such as Principles of Health and Safety which we publish will give you the UK background. If you want us to review your degree for membership purposes contact our Qualifications Officer here at IOSH who will assist.
