Posted By Ioanni Toutoungi Dear IOSH Colleagues Following three intensive years of practical work in Egypt’s energy sector, I received a research placement with the University of Aberdeen to investigate organisational culture and behavioural based safety within the oil industry. The findings were fascinating and the experience gained invaluable. However, I have been away from practical work for sometime now and I find it very hard to get my grip on an HSE job. Here is where I need your help! I am willing to take any HSE post at a basic salary. In return, here are some of the things I can contribute to: enhance the HSE training plan; develop and maintain Health and Safety Management systems; provide Health and Safety advice to all hierarchical grades; conduct inspections/audits; work independently; be self-motivated; support ISO 9001 practices; organise a safety culture and above all stimulate behavioural based safety approaches. As you might already know, BBS skills are highly valuable in our profession and hard to obtain – so, I might be a worth-while candidate to invest some time on! At the moment I live in Croydon and I am willing to commute anywhere in the Greater London periphery.
