I suggest you take either a NEBOSH type diploma or specialise in an area such as Manual Handling or ADR. I would recommend doing a trainers course as well as it took me years to learn how to present a subject professionally; occasionally having to dodge the odd tomato along the way.

Posted By Bill Collins Hi David, I did the CIEH Professional Trainer's Certificate and have to say it was great.. I'd done training courses before and if i'm honest, went along for the line on my CV.The instruction was great, the tutor excellent and the content improved my course prep and delivery out of sight. To deliver their courses you need a level above what your teaching and I think A NEBOSH Gen Cert will allow you to deliver any of their basic courses. However, it's the practical knowledge that really gives you the edge.. if you've done the job, you should be able to handle most things you'll be asked. Great career choice I think. Bill
