hi all
I am in Hartlepool `north east` currently looking for someone to show me the ropes in the health and safety world. I have recently passed my NEBOSH general cert. Im also a time served pipe fitter and worked mainly in the oil industry and have also worked offshore but more recently turned to buying and renovating property.
wages are irrelevant at this stage as I'm just looking to gain experience.
Any help appreciated

regards
lee

Hi!

I have just joined IOSH and new to all this, but saw your posting on the careers forum. It struck a chord, as I am in precisely the same situation. I had my own business until last year, decided on a career change and took the NEBOSH Certificate,I am now studying for the Diploma but urgently need ANY hands on experience I can get.

I wondered if you had been successful, or could offer any advice?

Thanks

Jeanne

Leebo & Jeanne,

Have you tried the networking opportunities at your local branch level yet?

There may be mentoring opportunities and chances for experience available there.

Another option would be to use your existing skills to secure a position with a company that is willing to help you develop your health & safety role.

All the best.

Hi Jonathon,

Thanks for your advice, I will definitely be attending my next branch meeting to network, it defintiely seems the best idea so far.

Thanks for your time

Jeanne
