Posted By ROB ATKIN My request is no different to many threads before me, but I have now got to the point where I need some pointers. I have a general Facilities/Office Services background(12 yrs or so) working in the commercial world, I then made the bold move to get a quality of life and started working at a Secondary Comprehensive(2005) covering a Health & Safety role along with Site/Buildings Manager and some other bits thrown at me, I have had my Gen Cert since 2004 and will finish my Diploma early 2008(passed a+b units sit c in Jan and then my unit d assignment to finish)I have my CV highlighting my specific h&s experience but find that its back to experience again. I know that the people in h&s jobs were not born into them so there must be glimmers of hope somewhere. I have registered with agencies, I am even prepared to relocate. I am thinking that the hassling idea is the only option. I would like to work in a few different areas (construction/power industry/off shore) thinking it would give me more chance. Should I focus on one? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly received.

Posted By Jim-F Rob, in my opinion its all down to your CV at the moment, I went through all that until I got it done professionally after that I got plenty of interviews, I then discovered it was by this time my interview technique, so I then had to sort that out. Your CV must interest them and to do that unfortunately you have to exsagerate (make yourself look far better than you are)or you will get nowhere, but you must be able to back up your claims (easier said than done). You must keep at it and don't give up, you have worked very hard to get to this point and you seem passionate about it. JF
