I am 34yrs old and currently have the Environmental Health Degree which i acheived in 2000. I have a NEBOSH Cert and 7 years experience in retail health and safety. I would like to take another higher level qualification but i am unsure what is the best way forward in terms of qualification choice. Can anyoone offer advice. Posted By Stuart Hamilton Richard,
I suppose the way forward really depends on where you see yourself in a few years time. So for example if you want to move towards construction, then your qualifications and experience portfolio should be developed with that in mind.
If you see yourself staying in retail then it may be more specialist training in the higher risk areas of retail/warehousing/logistics is a better option.
You could always undertake an MSc, using a retail related topic as your thesis. A number of universities will provide first degree or masters opportunities(Loughborough being one such place).
As you are already GradOSH, then there is no need to focus on the "diploma" level course, although there will be some important educational elements to these courses, but I would guess that cost will also come into the equation and that in itself will be a limiting factor.
I realise this does not really give you an answer, indeed it may give you more questions, but I hope it helps in some way
