Posted By Bob B As part of my CPD I am looking to attend a fire risk assessor course. At the moment I am at NEBOSH cert level and pushing myself to get as much qualifications and experience I can get.
With limited knowledge of fire, I am looking for a course that will give me plenty of detail (regs, science etc.) and practical exercises. I need a course that would allow me to conduct assessments on small to medium size premises.
I am prepared to pay up to a £1000.
Can anyone recommend a course or does anyone think at my level I am a bit to ambitious to be conducting fire RA's

Posted By Rebecca Oriana Jackson Check out public courses run by the Fire Service College at Moreton-in-Marsh who run (or did a year ago) a week long residential fire safety management course which was excellent and taught on every aspect of fire safety a risk assessor needs to understand. It was well worth doing.

Posted By Rob sharp Try a company called Fire Training UK, They run a Fire safety managers course. The course covers:- Duties of responsible person, Legislation, risk assessment, management procedures, theory of fire, emergency planning, means of escape, alarms, fire fighting equipment, induction training, staff training, Fire marshals. Plus you also get a good CD Rom for completing Fire risk assessments. Web: www.fire-training-uk.comI attended this course last year and found it very informative.

Posted By Amanda Have you considered the NEBOSH Fire Certificate. You could claim exemption from the first part as you have the NEBOSH general Certificate (if done in the last five years) and concentrate on the Fire Hazards (inc Risk Assessment)part.
