Posted By Craig roberts I am currently looking for trainee or junior position in HSE in the North West. I am willing to start at the absolute bottom. I am currently working for a international metal and chemical processing company as a emergency response specialist. My main role is running the emergency response dept(industrial firefighting. My other duties include assisting the health and safety manager. In essence my main priorities is the effective running of the Emergency Response Department as well as assisting the Health and Safety Manager in ensuring that the company complies with all HSE, Fire Regulations and maintains the safe working practices and excellent Health and Safety Culture. I have the IOSH Certificate in Management and I will be starting the NEBOSH Cert in the next couple of months(self funding). I would be extremely grateful for any advice or assistance anyone could offer about the best way to get my foot in the door. My email is robertsinfo@msn.com if anyone requires further information about myself or requires a copy of my C.V

Posted By Andy Wignall Ha oh the irony I'm from Blackpool and currently work for the Council there. They are actually advertising externally for a H&S assistant. I myself applied for this job when it was internal and was unsuccessful. It asks for 2 years experience, which i have as an involved safety representative, and it asks for the NEBOSH certificate or similar. Unfortunately i do not have that YET, but i am studying it and set to finish in June. I clearly was not what they were looking for, but for a young lad of 21 I'm not that disappointed as i am just starting my career. If you search on Google for Blackpool council website, and look at jobs externally, I'm sure you will find it. I do know that shortly an adviser position will come up in the next year, so if you were successful in obtaining that and then obtained the diploma or similar...well you can work the rest out Regards, Andy
