Posted By CW Paul, I may be in the same boat soon. Not CMIOSH or any IOSH for that matter, but the thought of being made redundant worries me as I took a change in direction and made a few decisions regarding my career. Unfortunately my cv over the last couple of years reads like I cannot hold down a job, that is not the case. I really do not want to go back into the industry that I was in previously, I may not have a choice in the matter though. The irony of it is that I asked for a budget to get key members trained up to an acceptable level of awareness (citb) now the questions being asked are why do they need me to visit sites when they have trained people on site at all times. Mmmmm, site foremen are site foremen whatever training they have, I walked into a smoking site today, with no welfare and people were wearing trainers. Yet they dont need someone to look after the interests of the company and the workers. 19 sites, 19 foreman trained up to citb, 19 foreman leaving their training at the training centre door and waving bye bye to the trainer whispering 'not a chance mate' Oh well, 20p for a cuppa tea guv?

Posted By Paul Barnacle CW I wish you the best with your current employment and that you do not face redundancy. After growing with a company over the past 8 years its not a good feeling. All the best Paul

Posted By CW Cheers Paul. I have developed a great deal of loyalty towards the company, but I cannot help the bitter taste developing in my mouth. It may not happen but the rumours are gathering pace, and they are unsettling.
