Hi All,
Can anyone provide me with a quality 2 page CV template or example for a self employed H&S Adviser.
My experience spans the construction, manufacturing, property and motor industries. So you can imagine it would be hard to annotate all the organisations I have worked for on a two page CV.
I have 18 months experience as a self employed H&S Adviser and 22 yrs in HM Forces, REME of which 12 yrs dedicated to health, safety, environmental and quality assurance.
My problem is that I currently have one page dedicated to my last 4 posts in HM Forces, REME as a safety manager and the remainder in self employment. I know I need to change this to reflect my breadth and depth of knowledge and professional experience.
I have my Peer Review Interview in Aug 08 so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.
Mike

Have you though about listing experience on an appendix to the CV. Another though you could double side the pages.

Hi,
I am wondering if someone can provide sample CVs for H&S safety officer/advisor roles?
I am required to draft one for myself as part of my learning portfolio for my diploma. I have not done a CV in over 16 years and can only find ones on sales or business which are of little use.
Thanks in advance

Thanks

Hi, I am in a similar position to many of the other contributors to this post. I may need to start looking for a job shortly and would be grateful if anyone could email me a cv template I could look at.
My current cv needs updating, the last time I applied for a job was 13 years ago and that was in engineering.
Thanks for any help.

In my experience (of having landed some very senior roles, and recruited safety officers) YOU WANT YOUR CV TO STAND OUT AND LOOK DIFFERENT!.
If I was recruiting, and received a CV which was obviously from a template I would probably bin it without a second glance............

I agree that a CV needs to look different.
But I think when people asking for a CV for reference. They do think that it is for reference so that they can prepare their own CV.
Anyway, to make it look different is a fair view.
Thanks.

"You would as a senior person in a company bin a CV because of the template".
Mmm, in my opinion that would be your loss and not the candidates, i thought H&S people were more open minded than that.
When i see a CV i look for the detail in the content, i also read CV's that are over two pages in length if the information is relevant.
Another annoyance i have is when people tell me they do not read all CV's received, if some body has put in time and effort applying for a position then the least the person that placed the advertisement can do is take the time to read the replies.
If they have received to many replies then they may need to review the information included in the advert and make it more specific.

Hello all,
I did not have a CV until about 20 years ago when all of a sudden I found that I needed one. I found a professional CV writing service locally, paid the money, and was delighted with the result!!
I had provided all of the information, but I was amazed at just how well this document put over my experience and qualifications. Oh yes, and I got the job!
The company I used was CV Services International, based in St Helens. I am sure they have a website now. I am sure that there are many such companies out there. You may also consider asking advice from employment agencies. Some of them will supply templates and samples, and the company I have used most recently, (Duke & Attwood) even helped me to draft a resignation letter.
Good Luck. Steve Murray.
