Is there any opening for H&S professionals in the US. What up take is there on ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001?

well new york state is really clamping down on safety since those few accidents involving cranes, and a few others. a friend of mine who works in the scaffold business says its suddenly become a major task to get permits and the like to erect scaffold.
I'd imagine then that work would be fairly plentiful, the only problem is that the chances of getting a work visa arent too great!! unless of course you're american!

The issue is also that in the US they follow OSHA regulations and guidance etc. This is different from our HSE approach but achieves similar results? You would need to know OSHA regs inside out, I would suggest. There seems to be in my limited experience similar interest in 14001/18001 to over here.
