I was wondering if some of you may impart some advice as I feel I'm stuck in a rut. As with many of us I started off working on the tools and slipped into the safety biz somehow.I've been doing this for over 8 years professionally full time now but feel trapped. I've a good job, decent money, but the day to day business has somehow turned into a never ending paperwork mountain.
My back ground is maintenance and construction within aviation and logistics, but I want a new challenge - soon - I'm interested in oil and gas but no idea as to how to approach - sorry about being so vague any advice is welcomed.

Hi am stuck in a rut! I have been trying to get offshore as a roustabout for the last 3 years and no-one will give me the chance/oppurtunity to prove that I am capable of doing the job. Why is this? I spent nearly £1000 on the combined offshore survival and fire fighting course which runs out next year and now have I to take my medical again as it ran out last month. Please could someone help me....as I don't know where to turn now...I feel I have wasted my money which could have been used for something else.
Regards
Derek Smith
