Posted By andy tetlow hi all, I need your guided experience for this one. I have an interview for a regional safety officers job at my company. I have been asked to do a short 10 minute presentation on "what do you feel are the key factors to delivering a stepped change in HSE performance and how would you contribute personally". The type of industry I am in is industrial services, ie. scaffolding, insulation, cleaning and painting in the petro-chemical and energy sectors. Just some guidance would be very much appreciated. Your haste in this would be appreciated in this too as my interview is Monday 1st September. regards Andy Tet.

Posted By Mazza Is your Presentation a PPP one or a Verbal Presentation? If is to be a PPP one i suggest that you use your Company Motto on the PPP and also use a Faded picture of your Company office in the Slide...(LOOKS GOOD TO THE BOSS) May i suggest the Acronym... SMART. Specific---Exactly What you want to do Measurable--Audit your Progress Achievable--Can you achieve your Goals Realistic---Will it have Benefit for your Co Timescale---How long you intend to Implement I hope you understand what i mean,im on my off time now for a month,if i can help at all please email me chris.marris@yahoo.co.uk I work for a Oil Drilling Co in Brunei but still live in the UK

Posted By andy tetlow Thanks Chris for your speedy response. I'm not sure which angle to hit it at yet. I am toying with the idea of a booklet type presentation. Yes, the SMART acronym is a good idea and it will have a starring role somewhere. Been thinking about using some key issues which have cropped up in my current role as safety coordinator, such as staffs' take on how we deal with safety observations/near miss reporting and improving communication and close out procedures. thanks again. andy
