Posted By Carl West Hi Martin, I think it depends on the years that you have been in the HSE. Its very much on 'band schemes' and they have the opportunity to move bands. Its interesting to see on the application that they accept Diploma as an entry but not NVQ4 To say that most people suggest they are of similar level, the HSE obviously dont and you cant apply if you have a NVQ4 Pity.....

Posted By bill reilly Martin Band 4 is the training grade The max for a Band 3 inspector is just under £40,000(more if you receive London allowance)I understand that it is possible to achieve the max after about eight years in post. Rumours suggest that in November HSE will be offering fixed term contracts for construction inspectors .

Posted By James M Carl they may ask for diploma but what level are the inspectors then trained to? A higher or lower level? Surely they wouldn't train to a lower level. NVQ 4 is the level they are trained to over 2 years. Does this mean the NVQ 4 is higher than the diploma? It appears so to me!!
