Posted By William. M Hi Everyone, I've just been to an employment fair and have a point I need clearing up. I showed a recruiter my CV and although he seemed impressed, he said, in my profile as well as my engineering background I need to put I am a 'health and safety professional' or I am going to get nowhere. I am uneasy doing this, as, although I have the Gen.Cert and have hopefully passed the Const.Cert, I am still looking for my first 'pure H&S' job. Can I honestly call myself a professional if I have yet to do the full time job. Many Thanks, William, Devon

Posted By Paul Leadbetter William I can see where you are coming from; I don't think that being a health and safety professional is just a matter of your level of qualification but, like you, I think you need to be doing it full time. Paul

Posted By bill reilly Could you argue that if you are a member of IOSH you already are ? "IOSH is Europe's leading body for health and safety professionals, with nearly 33,000 members worldwide, including 13,000 Chartered Safety and Health Practitioners."
