I was working in a UKAS accredited laboratory with an environmental analytical company, which has been certified with ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standard, ISO 17025:2005 Quality Management System Standard, and Safety Management System Standard OHSAS 18001. All these standards are adhered to and regular audit is conducted to monitor compliance with relevant documented procedures and guidelines. Unit D assignment is a workplace project that involves critical assessment of the organisation Occupational Health and Safety management system. Audit review and gap analysis of current health and safety management practices are conducted to identify compliance and non-compliance with relevant regulations, standards and guidelines. Recommendations for improvements are given to the summary of gaps identified. Action plans are developed on how to implement and monitor the recommended improvement measures.
