Due to changes in my working hours I will have a number of spare days available every month.

I could go on and complain about the current economic situation, but I see this as a opportunity to gain more experience in Health and Safety.

I will be available for one and half days a week and would relish the opportunity to learn more about Health and Safety in other industries in the North West area.

At the moment working I am working for an international magnesium alloy and chemical processing company as a Site Health and Safety/Emergency Response Specialist, working underneath the Regional Health and Safety Manager. Amongst other relevant qualifications I have the IOSH Certificate in Management and also NEBOSH Cert (credit) and I would be extremely grateful for any advice or assistance anyone could offer.
• Investigation of accidents and incidents and to provide statistical information on safety performance to the Regional Health and Safety Manager.
• Provide specialist advice and support to all internal departments
• Auditing and inspecting all operational areas.
• Ensuring that our Codes of Practice in the Safety Series, (particularly the Emergency Arrangements and Procedures) are at a level for the company to maintain its ISO14001 accreditation.
• Ensuring that all risk assessments, inspections and Health and Safety training is in place and carried out and that the company complies with all HSE, Fire Regulations and maintain its safe working practices and excellent Health and Safety Culture.
• Writing, implementing and updating the Health and Safety Policy.
• Communicating policies and other relevant information to the business.
• Overseeing the effective running of the Emergency Response Team that operates on site.
• Control of the Emergency Response annual budget.
• Training all members of the team on how to manage a range of incidents from a chemical leak to a major fire involving casualties. The training sessions that I run with the team are once a week for an eight-hour period and anything up to 14 people may attend. These sessions have to be created so that any potential incident that could happen on site can be covered in classroom and fieldtrip sessions. I am also responsible for the training of the departmental fire marshals and the on-site fire extinguisher training for all 240 employees and any sub-contractors that come on site.
• Breathing Apparatus Instructor, I have to train and assess any person in the emergency response team who wishes to become a B.A. wearer.
• Carrying out fire risk assessments
• Carrying out fire extinguisher training for all employees
• Keeping up to date with new legislation.
• Ensuring that the Emergency Response Team’s fire safety equipment is serviced.
• Facilitating regular fire drills.
• Carrying out fire risk assessments.
• Carrying out and recording regular fire safety checks.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this link and if you feel you may be able to offer any assistance, or just words of advice please feel free to contact me on 01942 212034 or by e-mail on robertsinfo@msn.com if you require a copy of my C.V
