I have recently passed the Nottingham and Trent Uni Diploma in HSE, and I am currently looking for my first full time role in H&S.

However, many of the positions advertised require experience of OHAS 18001, which at the moment I do not possess.

Can anyone recommend a recognised training course for OHAS 18001 (northwest area), which may had some weight to my CV and satisfy a potential employers requirements.

Many thanks

Andy,

I would try the OHSAS 18001 Auditor Training Courses generally run by certification bodies, this will give you an insight into the requirements of the Management System.

However, the experience employers are looking for is generally implementation and management of the system, so basically you are in a catch 22 situation.

All i can recomend is that you keep hunting for a suitable role relevant to your training and experience and then progress as you gain experience.

Good luck for the future
